Rose and Jack Wilde founded the Wood Icing Company in 2000. It became Rose's brainchild when she
discovered this new way to add dimension and texture to furniture. She quickly discovered that
others found her invention to be so intriguing, that she now has a patent pending.
Rose has always had a natural ability to create. She has had her hands in something artistic since elementary school. This talent has revealed itself time
and again in her paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Unable to be satisfied with one medium, Rose tried them all.
This explains her obsession with rescuing old furniture and transforming it into a beautiful piece of art.
After many years of creative exploration, Rose felt there was something missing in the marketplace for the restoration of furniture and cabinets. Readily available products used to strip, paint, and reconstruct flea market finds,
weren't able to deliver the results that fulfilled Rose's vision for these treasures. The day she invented the
Wood Icing technique, she knew she was onto something big. It was unique, versatile, and durable.
She made piece after piece, impressing her friends and family and newfound clients. The word spread quickly,
and soon she received client referrals and calls from decorators asking for custom pieces.
This newfound passion of hers was a hit.
Now, she and her husband, Jack, manage The Wood Icing Company full time.
The growing demand for the innovative Wood Icing technique and products has prompted the Wildes to make the
products available online.
In June of 2002, Rose won two awards at the Annual Fauxcademy of Decorative Finish Awards
held in Key West, Florida. This event attracted professional faux finishers from around the world,
each competing for top titles. The judges were amazed by Wood Icing, and two of Rose's entries won
a first place award.
